The first CIVIS3i call for 32 postdoctoral fellowships is now open for researchers in all academic fields. CIVIS3i, the CIVIS Programme for International, Interdisciplinary, Intersectoral Research and Training for Experienced Researchers, is an EU-funded project selected under the MSCA-H2020 COFUND for postdoctoral researchers. The fellowships it will fund are open to experienced researchers from all around the world.

CIVIS3i was developed within the CIVIS Alliance, and Aix-Marseille Université coordinates the programme. Four CIVIS member universities will recruit and host postdoctoral researchers, which the five other CIVIS universities will offer co-advisors, training and secondments. 24 non-academic partners will also support the project and offer training and secondments.

The four recruiting universities are Aix-Marseille Université (AMU, France), Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB, Belgium), Sapienza Universitá di Roma (SUR, Italy) and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM, Spain). The associated partners are the other 5 CIVIS universities: National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, University of Bucharest, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, University of Stockholm, University of Glasgow.

The CIVIS3i programme is rooted in vision of a cross-border environment for research which can create a wide range of opportunities for international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration. CIVIS3i offers researchers a comprehensive training and networking programme, integrating interdisciplinarity and intersectorality in research, as well as skills for working in an international environment. CIVIS3i is determined to enhance the career perspectives of its fellows, by offering talented academics an attractive environment for research and by training a future generation of employable, mobile, first-class researchers.

European Higher Education Organization is a public organization carrying out academic, educational and information activities on higher education in Europe.

The EHEO general plan stresses that:

  • Higher education systems require adequate funding and, as an investment in economic growth, public spending in higher education should be protected.
  • The challenges faced by higher education require more flexible governance and funding systems, which balance greater autonomy for education institutions with accountability to stakeholders.

Thus, EHEO plans:

  • improve academic and scientific interaction of universities;
  • protect the interests of universities;
  • interact more closely with public authorities of European countries;
  • popularize European higher education in the world;
  • develop academic mobility;
  • seek funding for European universities.
