The Faculty of Finance of PRUE, together with the New York Institute for Entrepreneurship Development, launched the master’s program «Master of Small Business Administration». Graduates will receive two diplomas – a Master of PRUE and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), recognized in North America and around the world.
The academic partner of the program was awarded as the best business support organization in Canada, and recognized by UBI Global as the best accelerator associated with universities.
«The launch of a new network program of two diplomas is the first experience in exporting programs of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. Cooperation with our Canadian colleagues promises to be successful and long-term», – comments Olga Shemetkova, Dean of the Faculty of Finance.
The program is practice-oriented and is positioned in the world as an entrepreneurial business education: students learn to create their own startups from leading market leaders.
The full-time part of the classes takes place in Canada. Managers of venture funds, incubators, successful technology entrepreneurs and top managers of leading companies are involved in giving lectures and conducting practical classes. The introductory course is taught by Dr. Alan Middleton-winner of the Order of Queen Elizabeth II, Professor of Marketing, member of the Marketing Hall of Fame in Canada.
According to Professor Alexey Bolvachev, the scientific director of the program, «the uniqueness of training is achieved by a combination of educational schools in Russia and Canada. The first place of PRUE in the ranking of graduates’ competitiveness and the highest positions of the York Institute for working with startups promise to give unique educational and career opportunities to graduates».
The first students of the program were foreign graduates of the TOP 300 world universities, including graduates of the University of Toronto, the 18th university in the world rankings. «Science, like business, has no borders, and I am proud to imagine a future in which business leaders from Canada, Russia and other countries who have received education under this program will better understand each other and create effective partnerships in the global economy», – Marat Ressin, professor and President of the York Institute for Entrepreneurship Development.
