Medicinal Product Law, Pharmaceutical Law Within The European Union

The University of Burgundy is pleased to announce the opening of an open and free course on medicinal product law, pharmaceutical law within the European Union. If you want to understand how a medicinal product is created, how it is regulated in the European Union and if you want to know more about the specificities of medicinal product patents, then this course is for you. This course is intended for health students (pharmacy, medicine, etc.) as well as law students, but also for anyone who wants to know more about medicinal product regulation in the European Union.

Public

This course is intended for health students (pharmacy, medicine, etc.) as well as law students, but also for anyone who wants to know more about medicinal product regulation in the European Union.

Objectives

The objective of this course is to give a culture of European pharmaceutical law, and more particularly the notions of European pharmaceutical regulatory affairs.

The objective of the conference program is to provide basic knowledge on:

  • the legal definition of a medicinal product (a drug),
  • the different kinds of drugs,
  • the medicinal product life cycle and its legal and regulatory framework,
  • the patentability of medicinal products.

In addition, an optional module on the regulation of health within the European Union is offered. 

The Professor

Mathieu Guerriaud is pharmacist and legal expert, Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer in Health and pharmaceutical Law.
